Design & Installation With Redi-Rock

Behind every Redi-Rock retaining wall is more than just a great finish — there’s engineering tailored to the unique demands of each site. Two walls may look the same from the front, but what’s happening behind them can vary significantly based on soil conditions, loads, height, and location.

Our Redi-Rock resource centre brings everything together in one place. From technical drawings and design manuals to SketchUp tools and testing data, and how-to videos, you can find what you need to confidently understand, design, and build any Redi-Rock retaining wall. For walls over 1.2 metres (4 feet), consult a qualified engineer to ensure proper site-specific design and performance.

Redi-Rock BC FAQ

Design

Determining the design of your wall will depend on various factors such as site specifics and the geotechnical or type of soil conditions. In seismic regions like BC, retaining wall design must account for earthquake forces. A 12-foot gravity wall with standard batter may work in non-seismic areas, but when seismic loads are considered, additional reinforcement—such as geogrid or increased setback—may be required to meet safety factors.

For walls over 1.2 metres (4 feet), consulting a qualified engineer is strongly recommended to ensure proper site-specific design and performance.
